Getting Pro-Active with your Software Quality Assurance

This month the Software Quality Assurance Group of New England kicked off the new year with John Galt as a sponsor of their January meeting.

Our featured speaker, Robin Goldsmith, President at Go Pro Management Inc. and author of Discovering REAL Business Requirements for Software Project Success brought the fireworks by hitting the frustration that Software Quality professionals face head on: Why is traditional software quality assurance resisted and ultimately ending in failure?

Robin’s interactive talk on ProActive Software Quality Assurance got the discussion going by pointing out that many of us aren’t even speaking the same Quality language. That was just a set up for the deep dive into importance of “value” and “process”.

So if your QA is largely test execution and enforcing document/procedure compliance, it got the wheels turning. By our head-nodding meter, we think there were a few New Year’s resolutions made to get SQA well beyond tail-end testing.
