We were “FIRST” bitten by the FIRST bug (For Inspiration & Recognition of Science & Technology) when we started volunteering as judges for the FIRST Lego qualifier competition two years ago.
FIRST Lego is a great gateway into FIRST Robotics which they aptly describe as “combining the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology” for high school students. The participants call it “the hardest fun you’ll ever have.”
Each team has 6 weeks to design, build and program a robot to complete challenges better than their competitors. Of course, all of this action-packed engineering requires time and resources.
John Galt is proud to join in as a sponsor of our local high school’s (Burlington, MA) FIRST Robotics team, DevilBotz Team 2876. Since our founding, Burlington has been our home, and with neighbors like Microsoft, Oracle, SAP and Samsung, it’s also at the heart of Massachusetts’ innovation economy. So we’re excited to support out local youth.
Our name may not be up in lights, but it’s on something better . . . a robot that shows our support for the STEM efforts of bright, young minds. Go DevilBotz Team 2876, we’re your biggest fans!
